Rosetta Stone Online language learning center access with library card isn’t working anymore?

I’ve been using their online language courses which you get free access to (or used to) with your public library card and I really like it a lot, but it doesn’t seem to be working anymore.

I’ve always had to register almost every other time I use it, but since it lets me use my same library card number over and over again it never really bothered me much. Now, though it won’t accept my card or let me make a new account at all.

Are they not letting library goers have free access anymore?

Anyway, I’m a freshman in high school and love learning languages but don’t really want to have to spend nearly a hundred dollars on the latest language learning software. I don’t even think my parents would buy it for me and I don’t have the money myself.

I do take German and French at school but I’m trying to learn Spanish and also am trying to get really good at German.

So: Does anyone know of another good way to get lessons online that is free?

a great free website, that seems to keep getting better is

http://www.practicingspanish.com

if you don’t mind that a lot of the dialogues are healthcare oriented
but there’s lots of other parts too

and it’s free!

What is the most effctive and BEST way to learn spanish quicker and easier?

Besides classes in high school, i want to learn more on how to speak spanish. Any websites, books, etc. that I can learn from?!

Let me tell you about my personal experiences when trying to learn English.

I tried going to an English school for a few months, luckily I learnt a lot, fast and easy. But it was just grammar.

Many years after that, I attended to another school, here in Mexico, it’s called Interlingua, these guys claim they make you speak English within a year. Pure junk!

After that school, I decided to learn by myself.

First advice: Don’t stay too much in a school, unless you see real progress.

Second advice: If you already know the grammar basics, and have studied for a while, go the next step. Talk to the real thing, I mean, native spanish speakers. Social networks, Skype.

Anybody know where to learn spanish for free?

I’ve been looking for a site online that teaches you spanish for free. I’ve tried some sites and after the first lesson you have to purchase some book for over $150.00 which I’m not about to do. I’m just looking for a site that teaches you for FREE just so I know what other people are saying around me. I hate the feeling of being left out or that people are talking about me just because I can’t understand them. Any suggestions? Any books that I should look for in the library?

Thanks for your input.

Once again I’d like to recommend this page: http://mitglied.lycos.de/juronjaure/ Click on "language resources" on the left, then find Spanish. There you’lll find lots of links. There you’ll find lots of free stuff. If you can’t use links from this page, maybe it’ll give you a good starting point for your search anyway.

Do you know of any summer programs to learn spanish while teaching english/volunteering?

Does anyone know of programs (that are not too expensive) where I could learn spanish while teaching english or volunteering? I only know basic spanish currently, but I would like to go next summer, and leave as close to fluent in Spanish as possible. I have heard that you can work for your room and board, and maybe even get paid, or get a living stipend. I also would like to go with my boyfriend, and live together.
